Floorplan Viewer for ICE40 FPGAs


I’m sure this is probably common knowledge, but today I found a really useful tool that gives a floorplan view of ICE40 designs, and makes it possible to see how much space is used, and how arachne-pnr has handled placement/routing.


You just need to give it a copy of the .asc file that is produced during the build.

The author also appears to have a standalone version, which could be incorporated into the build process:

I think this could come in very handy when we’re trying to optimise the size of components for the game SoC :slight_smile:


Also take a look at nextpnr. It is replacing arachne-pnr from icestorm and will be much better as it matures.
